Ranger Peak

The Ranger Peak is a lightweight, ultra-comfortable, ultra-cold weather pac boot. The warming system, which is comfort rated down to -80 degrees F, begins with a leather upper lined with 600 grams of Thinsulate insulation-pretty typical of most cold-weather hunting boots. To achieve that “wicked cold” rating, Ranger has added a removable liner with an additional 600 grams of Thinsulate insulation. Additionally, the liner insulation is enclosed by two layers of 3/8 inch polymeric foam with a moisture wicking, brushed-nylon facing. This system allows the liner insulation to displace moisture without being compressed, so it can insulate more efficiently than traditional pacs. When you get back to camp, simply remove the liners and they will dry out completely at room temperature in just a couple of hours.

Another advantage the Peak has over traditional pacs is that it’s comfortable for extended walking. This comfort comes from a combination of things, including a TEC-LITE molded outsole (which reduces weight), and Ranger’s all new Omega XT sole, which is fused to the midsole and TPR shell to absorb impact. The sole also features rhomboid grips for traction on uneven terrain, and self-cleaning, rear notch extended lugs for consistent traction in mud and snow.
